It is engineered using new Canterbury high performance fabric, an evolution of the material used to produce shirts for Canterbury sponsored teams in the 2011 Rugby World Cup. Using a combination of polyester and elastane, the fabric delivers optimum strength and effective moisture management, making the shirt lightweight and comfortable. The shirt also boasts a ball-deadening rubber grip area on the chest, which is arranged on the shirt as a tone-on-tone version of the red rose emblem: a first for the England kit. The test jersey also features an evolution of the signature power-band looped neckline alongside CCC triple bar tacks, all finished off with a neoprene pouch for GPS technology to help track performance.
